New Administrators for Livingstone School

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Sarah Holmgren has been selected as the new Principal and Eliza Grose as the new Assistant Principal for Livingstone School in Lundbreck.

Principal - Sarah Holmgren
Sarah (pictured, left) has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, and is pursuing her Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is currently an Assistant Principal with Edmonton Public School Board and has provided instructional leadership support, inclusive education coordination, mental health initiatives, and occupational health and safety coordination in that division.

In March 2020, stakeholders were invited to provide input on the professional and personal qualities a new Principal at Livingstone School should possess. Staff and parents responded that a Principal with strong leadership skills, a great communicator and relationship-builder, and someone who would embrace Livingstone’s strong culture would best meet the needs of the school.

“We feel confident that Sarah will be an excellent fit for the culture, staff, and students of Livingstone School,” says Superintendent Darryl Seguin. “She connects with others through meaningful relationships and models a growth mindset that will benefit our students.”

A teacher since 2010, Sarah has a passion for learning and has been a specialist for a gifted and talented program. She has taught French as a second language and music in addition to core subjects. Sarah is passionate about character education and meaningful, innovative work for students and staff.

“I believe in inspiring journeys of lifelong learning and instilling a sense of self-worth among all members of the school community,” says Sarah. “After visiting Crowsnest Pass regularly for the past 6 years, I am overjoyed to finally make the move to one of my favourite places in the world. I look forward to supporting and connecting with students, staff, and parents, and I’m excited to spend more time exploring the amazing Livingstone Range, Castle Mountain, and Crowsnest landscapes. ”

Assistant Principal - Eliza Grose
Eliza (pictured, right) holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, both from the University of Lethbridge. She is currently a teacher at Livingstone School and a lead teacher with Livingstone Ski Academy. In addition, Eliza has been very involved with the FACES Summer Education program, as coordinator and Principal.

“We are excited to have Eliza take on a leadership role at Livingstone School,” says Superintendent Darryl Seguin. “She brings enthusiasm for and an understanding of the ‘It’s Personal’ philosophy and has great relationships with the school community.”

Eliza’s experience in team building and collaboration combined with community leadership and volunteering make her a good fit for Assistant Principal. She develops positive interpersonal relationships, is a great communicator, and is able to be flexible and strong at the same time.

“I am thrilled and honoured to be chosen to support our amazing students, families and staff in the role of Assistant Principal at Livingstone School,” says Eliza. “I will continue to be dedicated to building positive relationships and supporting engaged learning that strives for personal success. I am looking forward to working with Sarah Holmgren as an energetic team of passionate leaders. I value the strength and diversity of our staff and community, and I believe with open collaboration we will continue to provide a supportive dynamic learning environment for our amazing students.”

Both Sarah and Eliza will begin their new roles at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Congratulations, to our new Livingstone School Administrators!
